Day 12 and the second weekend in UK lockdown. How are you doing? It is time to look at the mental and emotional health of people during lockdown.
Are you surrounding yourself with people who uplift, inspire and care for you?
It might not be that easy during this time but there are things you can do to support your mental and emotional wellbeing.
Be mindful of where you spend time, what you give your attention to, and the conversations you engage with.
I have become aware that my friends, family and clients are all pretty positive and encouraging - generally...
And there are plenty of people who are really struggling for a variety of different reasons.
Firstly, the older folk are feeling stressed with being kept indoors and this is compounded by not having much interaction with their friends and families.
Video chats and conferencing might be tools we use daily, but this technology is frightening for the older generation.
On the flip-side the younger generation are reaching out more and more and seeking professional help with stress, anxiety, panic disorders, and severe lack of confidence.
In many instances these youngsters are seeking support to find their way through after moving away from abusive parents, often from additions.
But this isn't a guarantee, some youngsters have good family lives but they are struggling with the expectations, they perceive are real.
What is your life and what are your dreams?
How can you reach these, growing through experience and learning?
What are you going to remember and look back on during this time?
What will you have achieved?
